Pattern description:
A large tote and satchel is a simple shape that can be interpreted in many different ways.
Pattern Sizing:
Large bag size: 27cm x 28cm x 8cm
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. Here is my blog post too.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
No. There were way too many options to clearly see what I was doing. I can now recreate it now but for a first time try, I found the instructions overwhelming.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This pattern has lot of variations to choose from.
Fabric Used: Leftovers
Leftover cotton drill from a pair of skinny jeans I made last summer. The lining is cotton with a large print.
I've used fuseable pellon for the tote body.
The lining is fused with a light-weight interfacing.
The base has template plastic. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I've added an open pocket in the bag for my phone and car keys.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No and no.
I need more bag making experience before I go back to this pattern.
Conclusion:
I will use this tote for overseas travel because I made the outside lapped zipper pocket to fit a boarding pass - this feature was a real hit with DH. He even suggested making another tote using recycled levi's . Would you believe we have a great second-hand market nearby every Saturday?
Great-looking and functional tote!
