Pattern Description: A classic pencil skirt.

Pattern Sizing: 34-44. I cut a 38 according to my measurements but ended up taking in the seams so it was probably a 36 when I was done.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Totally.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Snort. I glanced at them once to check out the zipper/waistband placement but otherwise didn't refer to them. Burda instructions drive me nuts.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's a well drafted classic pencil skirt with nicely placed darts and a beautiful waistband. The back split is not to my liking so I replaced it with a vent using this tutorial.

Fabric Used: A stretchy drill, not sure about fibre content as it was a gift but it feels nice.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I only cut one waistband and folded it over so it was half the width. I didn't have enough fabric to cut the waistband on the bias but as my fabric had alot of stretch it didn't matter, it worked well cut on grain. I tapered the side seams in a bit more from hip to hem to make it more fitted at the kneeline and added a back vent instead of the split so it was a bit less "hello there" at the back.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is now my go to pattern for pencil skirts. I will make it again, many times and I would recommend it as a classic simple skirt.

Conclusion: As pencil skirts go this one works well. I'm looking forward to making this for winter in some lovely wool. More pics at my blog.
