Pattern Description: dress with curved, pieced sections
Pattern Sizing: 46-52 (I am usually a 44, but do an FBA. This time, I cut a straight 46 and took in the waist via back elastic.)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? sort of - I had to rely on the technical drawing and Google translate on my phone a lot!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The cut of this dress is wonderful - very flattering.
Fabric Used: 4 different colors of ponte knit (my favorite fabric) embellished with Bulgarian folk art embroidery patterns on the pocket and at the bust - from emblibrary.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I tweaked the hem (and may tweak it some more) to exaggerate the balloon effect and echo the neckline detail. I also moved the back elastic a little lower to take the dress in at the waist for a better fit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? no, b/c it is fairly unique, but I would recommend it
Conclusion: I love my unique, festive, (and comfortable) new dress! I also love that I straddle the size range between regular and "tagli forte" b/c this is seriously cute!
This is an amazing fit, and looks great on you
