I did this for my work's Christmas party. But I did hand embroider the tea cup and cup cake on the pockets.
Pattern Description: Retro Butterick 1/2 apron
Pattern Sizing:I made a large
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?It did look like the pattern envelope except I didn't use the lace as suggested.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes, there isn't many pattern pieces.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like that it only used a yard of fabric, so I can use the left over fabric for an oven glove or something. I like the general swingy shape also.
Fabric Used:cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I didn't use the lace. I also made a lining for the pocket- to fix the pocket gaping that I had on my original trial. The lining did make the pocket too heavy. So I possibly wasn't getting it on tautly when constructing the original?
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes I will probably sew it again. It makes a great white elephant gift.
Conclusion: It is a cute simple pattern that only uses 1 yard of fabric.
Cute apron and the embroidery is a nice touch.
