I needed a quick gift for a guy this afternoon. I help teach ESL (English as a second language) classes and today was our last day before Christmas break. One of the teachers' husband teaches a little, too, and I had forgotten to shop for him. I thought a fleece hat would be nice.
I looked in the big four for a guy fleece hat and didn't see anything that I really liked. So I went online and found this.
I knew he had gone to Clemson. I had a purple minke blanket I used for fabric. Instead of the fabric tassel, I made a yarn one with the Clemson colors. I had white minke scrap from a blanket, so I cut the hat 3-1/2 inches shorter and cut a 4-1/2" band out of the white.I actually left the hem part of the blanket on the bottom of the band for a nice finished edge when I turned it up.
I knew he was wild enough to handle the hat. I think you can tell from the picture it was a hit! It took about half an hour to make.
