Pattern Description:
A beginners pattern from Quilters Academy, Vol 1, Freshman Year. The pattern is called Woodland Winter. The book is a skill building course in quiltmaking. The authors are Harriet & Carrie Hargrave. A Mother/Daughter team.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. It came out very nice.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, pretty easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I have found I do not like working with 3 inch squares and prefer to work with 6 inch squares, as in my first quilt.
Fabric Used:
I use only 100% quilting cotton fabrics. The quilt top is from Andover Fabrics. The inner green border fabric is Moda Crinkle. The wider outer border is a paisley print from Andover Fabrics. The binding is Moda Crinkle in chocolate.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Not if the blocks were this 3 inch square size. Now if I made the blocks larger, I might do it again.
Conclusion:
I am happy with this quilt and so is my husband. The finished size is 42 x 42.

This was a simple design and not too hard. DH likes it very much. What I like best is the size is easy to work on and if I quilt it myself, there is not so much fabric and weight of fabric to cause a lot of drag. It stayed on my cabinet and did not fall off like a much larger quilt I am working on is doing. I do use a tv tray to hold as much weight of the quilts so the drag is reduced.
