Pattern Description: Misses A-line or Flared Skirts
Pattern Sizing: I cut size 8 in view B
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? This pattern is listed as fast and easy and it is in terms of pattern pieces and how easy it is to construct and I wanted a very simple A-Line skirt pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The simplicity of the skirt which is exactly what I needed: A non trendy classic a-line black skirt that will be with me for years to come.
Fabric Used: Designer Silk Crepe by Valentino (info on the blog)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did not make any design changes but I did change the side zipper to an invisible zipper and I used the skirt pattern pieces to cut out a lining in a yummy silk habotai. I did some hand sewing on the waistband for a nice clean finish and I hand sewed the lining onto the zipper.
Would you sew it again? I will be making a few more staple skirts in yummy colors like a Kelly green maybe?
Would you recommend it to others? YES, this skirt pattern is easy to construct and not complicated at all but YOU can make it amazing by using great fabrics and linings and making sure to use careful construction methods
