Pattern Description:
misses top with sleeve variations and neck variations. neckline gathering instead of bust darts.
Pattern Sizing:
size 12, fitted using a moulage
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i thought the simple lines of the pattern would be perfect for showcasing a crazy print, in this case rows of butterfly wings. i loved the gathered neckline instead of bust or waist darts that would interrupt a print. i thought the sleeve length was spot-on.
Fabric Used:
armani silk charmeuse from mood fabrics, NYC.
silk charmeuse double-fold bias tape from mood fabrics, NYC.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
using my moulage, i redrafted part of the pattern to make it fit more closely to my body. i was concerned about the amount of wearing ease as drafted.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
yes, 100%. this is a go-to, TNT, keep it in your stash pattern for when you want a cute little blouse with just enough design interest and you have a great print to play with. i am not sure if i would try it in a solid color, as that might be more plain than i would prefer.
Conclusion:
very, very happy. when i actually focused, the blouse took less than 3 hours to construct from cutting to finishing, even with french seams and a couture neck binding.
