Pattern Description:
Girl's jumper with top-stitched pleats and buttons on shoulders.
Pattern Sizing:
98-122 I made a size 116 to hopefully be worn for two seasons.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, exactly.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Actually I didn't have my burda issue at home when sewing it, but I had read the instructions a few weeks before that and think I remembered almost everything. It went together smoothly. I hadn't done pleats in at least 20 years and they matched really well. I wasn't sure if I had remembered well what to top-stitch, but I did and it came out great. This is the most top-stitching I have ever done.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the fit, although I would make it longer next time so she can wear it longer.
Fabric Used:
Stitched denim, leftover from a skirt I made for myself a few years ago. It was given to me many years ago from a friend.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Since my machine doesn't really do buttonholes well, I didn't make any and just sewed the button through both pieces at the shoulders. There really is no need for them to be unbuttoned, since there is a zipper. I didn't have an invisible zipper, so I just used a regular one. And I only lined the bodice, since it's an everday jumper.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, probably for my younger girl. I really liked it.
Conclusion:
Maybe the bodice could be just a tad longer and the whole jumper as well, but those are things easy to fix next time. All in all, I love the patttern.
