This is beautiful and I think it's a great idea to make a detachable peplum. Love the grosgrain ribbon addition, too! I sometimes wonder about online fabric descriptions, they must get mixed up sometimes.

The dress is really cute, but actually I like it better without the peplum. It still has all the qualities that make the dress special but with a little restraint. Allowing yourself the choice of two versions is a great idea.
