Pattern Description:
Zipper fly skirt with front pleat and two front pockets.
Pattern Sizing:
The standard sizing for Simplicity patterns, I cut this in a straight size 10 and took in the sides to accommodate the stretch of the denim.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! I think it looks just like the drawing on the envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, this was a very easy pattern to follow, even the zip fly was clear and simple. I have made zip flies before and I found this to be quick construction.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the two big front pockets and the pleat. These were a nice touch for such a structured skirt. I was confused about the length of the zipper the pattern called for, a 7" zipper is much too long for a zip fly, I think a 4" would have worked better.
Fabric Used:
I used a medium weight denim, I think that this skirt works best with heavier material as it is structured and needs some stiffness behind it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the waist band width in half as I have a short torso and the band would have been too thick as is. Other than that I followed it as is.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would make this again in some brighter solids to add more basic skirts to my wardrobe.

Fabulous look!
