More over at my blog, including a picture of my crazy cute baby niece which has nothing to do with this review but makes me smile anyway.

Pattern Description:

Vogue Easy Options below-the-knee stretch knit dress with a low, low neckline. How low? If this neckline had a voice, it'd sound like Barry White.

The dress has two length options -- mid-knee or mid-calf -- and sleeve options. It's gathered around the chest and gathered at the waist, maternity dress style, although it doesn't look like a "maternity dress". Negative ease up top and loads of wiggle room at the bottom.

Pattern Sizing:

B5 (8-10-12-14-16) or G5 (18-20-22-24). I'm usually what I imagine would be a 6 in Vogue. I always cut the 8, usually the smallest size, and end up taking it in a bit, and that's exactly what happened this time. This pattern is spot-on with the sizing, so cut your usual.

If you're between sizes or can't decide, definitely pick the size that suits your chest measurement. The style has plenty of ease in the waist and hips, so even if you're cutting something smaller than you normally would based on those proportions, you'll have plenty of room.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

It did! Stuff always looks a little different *on* me because I'm not, uh, you know, a 5'10" model with a killer tan. But the dress is definitely true to representation.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yep! Zero problems here. This was an exceptionally straightforward pattern.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

As much as I love a low neckline, this one's treading into absurd territory. I can typically pull off super low-cut stuff because I have the chest of a 13 year old with bee stings on his nipples. (In other words, no matter how low the cut, I've got nothing there to offend anyone.)

This is so low, even I think I'll likely wear a cami underneath.

Other than that, there's nothing not to love. A very flattering style that I could see complimenting a wide array of body types.

Fabric Used:

ITY Jersey from Fabric Mart. Like I said on my blog, this fabric's like what you'd get if Lisa Frank and Emilio Pucci had a baby and that baby designed a textile print.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

Omitted the zipper, took in a couple extra inches of ease at the back seam.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Despite having way too many patterns, this one will definitely make another appearance someday. I think I'll save it for one of the fancier knits I'm holding onto. Definitely recommended.

Conclusion:
Flattering, fairly easy, and a style that'll stay on-trend for a long time. This is going in the favorites file.

That indeed is an Animal Spirit fabric and it looks fabulous on you especially with those great boots - though I agree about the low cut. Congrats on the new machine!! And as always love your review and blog!!

News Flash to Eva Suzanne - Rebecca is a writer by trade, and she always "cracks me up" too. prostheticsgirl. Amazing that she A). finds the time to sew and B). is a fairly recently self-taught sewist. Well done.
