| Pattern Description:
Infants lines buntings, jacket, jumpsuits, pants, blanket, and hat.
I made view D (jumpsuit) with an added hood.
Pattern Sizing:
Newborb to Infant Large
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Mostly...I did some modification.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes the instructions were fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Nice basic snowsuit pattern that met the things I wanted. Namely that it had a hood, feet, and fold over mittens. I liked how the pleats were done to make a heel in back of the foot.
Fabric Used:
The outside is a basic lightweight microfleece and then I lined it with a grid fleece for additional warmth. FOE used on the cuffs and around the ankle.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The snow suit option didn't have a hood but it was easy to add one from the jacket. The hood was too bid for a 4 month old (I made it in size small or what would correspond to a 6 month size) so I changed to hood to a three piece hood and used the additional seam lines to shape the hood a bit more and take out some of the volume. I folded over a bit of the lining to make the edging around the hood in a contrasting color and added cord elastic into the casing made by the lining. The pattern had you just add elastic at the top of the hood but I didn't like how that made the sides poof out.
I added FOE to the cuffs and mittens to give them a bit of stretch and recovery. I also wanted a bit of cinching at the ankles so I decided to add some of the FOE there to create an ankle and to add a bit of contrast and interest to the foot area.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would make this again. It's a good basic pattern (except for the issues with the hood).
Conclusion:
Mom wanted a simple snowsuit that would be warm with out too much bulk and would cover the baby's hands, feet, and head. This pattern has all those things with plenty of options to customize.
