Pattern Description:
Aprons Designed with love by Sara Pattern Sizing:
S,M,L Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, but the skirt didn't look quite as full as the pattern sketch. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, instructions were easy to follow, very straightforward. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I made this apron as a Christmas gift for my niece and I wanted something special. I like the femininity of the design, bodice gathers, ruffled neckline and pocket trim. I also like how the waistband adds shape to the apron. Fabric Used:
I used a novelty cotton purchased from Jo-Ann Fabrics for the garment, muslin for underlining, and another cotton for the ruffle trim. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No alterations were needed. I decided to underline the garment with muslin because the Mickey Mouse novelty cotton seemed so thin. I was concerned that the muslin would add bulk for the narrow hemming called for, but it wasn't a problem. The only drawback to the pattern is all of the hemming, which I suppose could be avoided if trimmed with bias tape. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I do recommend this pattern and would sew it again. I made this apron as a Christmas gift - maybe I'll make one for me too. Conclusion:
Overall, I was happy with this project. The pattern was easy to work with, and the apron turned out just as I had planned. Best of all, my niece loved her Christmas gift.
