Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? For the most part, yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes and no. I did my own thing for the corset for the binding/boning and loosely followed the directions
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? What I like most is the finished product. The directions were easy enough to follow. The only thing I didn't like is how big it ran. The corset runs large
Fabric Used: a combination of novelty, old scraps and lace table clothes
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I LOVE sewable boning. I sewed it on the edge wrapped the binding around it and called it good. No one can tell unless they know what they're looking for. I also tattered the edges of the skirt by using dull sewing scissors and just started snipping to give it more of a pirate look. This costume was originally intended for a trip to Disney world's Halloween party so I added a pirate mickey mouse applique that I made to the satchel. For the underskirt I made a full black underskirt and then added the orange lace only on the front half. I also shortened the inside skirt in the front so if she wanted to wear awesome pirate/spider/Halloween socks with great shoes people would be able to see them. Added the headband and two sashes and some beads for the hair to pirate it up a bit. And added lace to the shirt sleeves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes
Conclusion: FUN costume. Worth the money and time to make it. Plus having the corset so big made it very comfortable for the person who now owns it.
