Pattern Description:

Very Easy Vogue tunic, dress and pants. I chose the tunic.

Pattern Sizing:

Multi-sized. My measurements fell squarely between XL and XXL. I figured since it was such a full-cut tunic, I'd be fine with the XL.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Sort of. I failed to look at suggested fabric types. Regular cotton IS NOT suggested as it has too much stiffness. Ah, well, 20-20 hindsight

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Very easy, one of the easiest Vogue I have ever made.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I had purchased the embroidered cotton and envisioned some kind of a peasant top. I had been wanting to use this pattern for a while and thought it would lend itself to the border embroidery. I really was fine, as far as the border design. Just the wrong type fabric.

I liked how quickly it went together.

Fabric Used:

Embroidered cotton from fabric.com. It really has a nice had. Just too stiff for the pattern.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

I needed to take advantage of the border embroidery, so the front and back were at a cross grain. The sleeve top was slightly off-grain to capitalize on embroidery. I really feel that this did not cause any problems. So, border OK, stiff cotton, NOT!

Also, instead of machine-stitching the hems, I used blind-hem. I didn't want my hemming to fight with the delicate embroidery.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

I will probably try this with the right type of fabric. At first, I felt like Dumbo's ears, ready to fly away. But with my skinny jeans, I felt pretty in it and had several compliments.

If you make it, please do be aware it needs a soft, drapey fabric!
