Pattern Description: From the pattern envelope: New Look Workroom from Project Runway, Misses' dress with kimono sleeves, neckline variations and belt.

Pattern Sizing: 6-18. I cut a size 10 and graded out to about a 12 at the hip for more ease.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it does, accept for the pockets which I eliminated.

Were the instructions easy to follow? So easy, but I only really referred to them once for the neck binding instructions.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the simplicity of this pattern and how fast it went together, especially after I made my design and pattern changes.

Fabric Used: Polyester stretch charmeuse from Mill End Fabrics in Milwakee, OR.
I would have chosen a silk charmeuse or crepe, but could not find a color or print that I wanted, so I chose a very nice quality polyester and it really looks and feels like silk!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I elimated the waist seam and pockets for faster and easier construction by placing the pattern pieces all together flat as if all sewn together, and traced over the entire pattern to make it only a front and a back piece, like a big T-shirt. It was so much faster to cut and construct after doing that.
I also made the side and shoulder seams all French seams to avoid fraying and for a nice seam finish that could possibly be seen inside the sleeves.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is my second time making this pattern, and after redrafting it to my liking, I will make it again. I highly recommend it to others as well.

Conclusion: After making my own changes to this pattern, I really love it! It will work very well in a variety of fabrics and is so easy to construct.
I bought the fabric one day, took it home and washed it gently, meanwhile, redrafted the pattern (which took the most amount of time) cut out the front, back and neck band, then the next day, sewed it all up. All in all, it took about 4 hours including about 1.5 hours sewing time. Love it!

I made this for a housewarming party that I was going to and got many compliments on this dress while wearing it-what great conversation starter and confidence booster! I also made the host and hostess a great simple table runner for their dining room table which they loved. I did all the sewing for both the dress and the table runner the morning of the party, so both are great fast and easy sewing projects to do. I will post photos of the table runner as well if they are nice enough to send me a photo of it!

Beautiful dress! How ingenious that you eliminated the waist seam. Did you put in the waist elastic or just give it form with the belt? I have this pattern and want to make it for spring.

Thank you all so much for all the nice comments and feedback on this dress! Krazyknit, I did not put in elastic at the waist this time, both as a time saver and for easier fitting with a belt. Sometimes a waist seam just is not right for me, so I just left it out for this dress.
