| Pattern Description:
Misses' wrap front dress with:
- A-line shape and dropped shoulders;
- side ties variations;
- optional sleeves and collar.
I made dress D, sleeveless with collar.
Pattern Sizing:
AAX (4-6-8-10); DD (12-14-16-18)
I cut size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the A-line shape of the dress and the dropped shoulders.
I like how simple and easy it was to sew all the pieces together.
I also like how the back and the front cross-over necklines are finished.
And finally, I love the side ties that go completely around the back of the dress before being knotted to the centre front.
Fabric Used:
Moderate Stretch Polyester Knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not make any alterations to the dress except for the ties which were narrowed by half.
The front cross-over neckline is not too low. However, I stabilized it with a snap fastener sewed on the inside. The buttons are only there for prettyness.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I might sew it again, but I am not attracted by wrap garments. I am always worried that the ties are not securely attached or that there is too much slack at the cross-over.
This pattern would be a good option for anyone who is looking for a very easy, simple and quick to sew wrap dress: there are no waist seam, no darts, no tucks, no pleats and no gathering to do on the dress.
Conclusion:
I am not a big fan of wrap dresses, but this one impressed me. I am surprised to see that it does not shift a lot when I move around.
