Vogue recommends this pattern for Knits, but I stitched this in a polyester woven that had a high lycra content. The fabric is fairly heavy which gave the finished top a nice drape.
I made the sleeveless version with a collar (View A). A button loop was added to the collar. I also used the longer back tail from View C.
The collar and the placket were interfaced with very lightweight interfacing. Medium weight interfacing might have been a better choice for the collar as it tends to "rumple down."
Buttons were sewn through all layers of the placket to secure.
I made a size small and increased hips to a medium. The pattern side seams are almost vertical so I thought the extra inches would be needed for fit. They were!
All seams, including hems, were serged.
To add interest, a polymer clay face cabochon was embellished with iridescent purple and ruby colored beads to create a large button at the collar.

I just saw this in Vogue magazine made up in a similar way and thought it was awesome! Very sexy in a non obvious way - the best kind!

I would never have given this pattern a second look, but I am loving your version. So crisp and clean. I like your brooch too
