|This is a copy of a nightie I've had for a long time.|
What I love about it is the shape, the wide straps and the comfort of this piece.
I've cut on the bias and while I didn't have the 'same' fabric to recreate it, I did have an animal print in my stash that deserved a go for Jungle January.
Did it look like the original garment once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did and I now need to refine the front neckline so it's more of a v shape.
Here's the original nightie.
This first version has a curved neckline.
How did you copy the original garment?
I know it's tedious but I traced the front and back pieces using a large piece of tissue paper that I had in my paper stash.
Yes, I have a stash of tissue paper to compliment my fabric and pattern stash. I know that sounds terrible, but it works for me
I've used a soft poly woven. It's soft to touch so I know the quality of the fabric should make it lovely to wear.
Any design changes you made:
The design is the same - width, length, bias cut.
Would you sew it again?
I will use this again and possibly make a longer version.
