| Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, pullover tops have gathered front neckline and back button placket. I made view D with bias gathered overlays at the cuff and neckline. I used the curved hem from view C instead of the band with bias overlay. I didn't want this extra band of fabric at my hips.
Pattern Sizing:4 to 20. I made a 12 up top going to 14 through the hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The soft gathering at the neck and the bias overlays.
Fabric Used:A burnout (poly I think) laid over the top of a lighter pumpkin color rayon, both from Hancocks. I treated both of them as one piece after basting the edges together. The overlays on the cuff and collar are the burnout. You'll definitely want a softer, drapey fabric so the gathers hang nicely.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Instead of buttons at the back neck/placket, I used large snaps. I figured it would be easier to snap than trying to button.
The burnout bias overlays must have "grown" after cutting because they were the same size as the cuffs and collar. They are supposed to be approximately 1/2" smaller and you stretch them to fit, which makes the soft pleats. Thus, the burnout won't stay flat in these pleats, so I sort of scrunch it down and press it flat. Neckline close up
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I'd definitely recommend it. I'm going to make view C at some point. I like the look of the scarf/bow, but I think all that fabric near my face might bug me so not sure if I'll make that one. | Buy this pattern for $13.46 List Price: $17.95 Add to Bag |
