Pattern Description:
Sundress with gathered shoulders, front and back deep V neckline, underbust gathers, empire seam, front and back darts and options for knee or ankle length, or full gathered tiered skirt. Back view Neckline detail
Pattern Sizing:
16-28 (42-54). I used 42 bodice and 50 skirt with modifications
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes pretty much!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I had no problems.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It is so nice to see a youthful plus pattern! The front and back V necklines are very pretty, the shoulder gathers a nice touch and the body shape very flattering.
Fabric Used:
A Jaipur tablecloth that I bought at Womadelaide! Is a hand woodblock printed fabric made in India with a border print.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lengthened the bodice and did a Y-style FBA and sewed the dart. I lined the skirt as well as the bodice (pattern suggests bodice only). I traced a larger size for the skirt but ended up taking in the side seams again. I added length to the hem of the shortest view.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes it's a great pattern. I might try it again next summer, perhaps in the maxi length.
Conclusion:
It's taken a while to get used to, and I don't have the fitting quite there yet, but I am quite pleased with this dress.
