Pattern Description:
The Renfrew Top is a fitted knit top with sleeve and neckline variations. Instead of standard machine-stitched hems, the sleeve and body hems are finished with bands. These banded hems are easy to sew and finish the edge in a professional-looking way.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, although I didn't follow the directions for the bands. Instead I simply applied the bands from the men's wear pullover that I used to create the top.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love this pattern and have made it many times. It was my first choice for "best pattern of 2012."
Fabric Used:
This is a restructured cotton and rayon knit men's sweater by Jhane Barnes. She designs her own fabric, which is woven in Japan. I adore her geometric designs and look for men's wear on ebay to restructure.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used the original bands on the sweater rather than following the pattern, which required a little extra fitting.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is a wonderful pattern.
Conclusion:
Tasia, Sewaholic's owner and designer, calls this a pattern for people who don't like knits because the bands give a professional looking finish. I sew with knits all the time, but reach for this pattern again and again.
