| Pattern Description:
This blouse is has cute cap sleeves and a pretty gathered neckline. The blouse also has a great back detail with a key hole that is bound and ties into a perfect little bow.
Pattern Sizing:
The sizing was off. I made this blouse two sizes smaller than the sizing suggested and it fit perfectly, that is somewhat loosely as in the pattern photo.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Not especially. I followed the assembly order, but modified the way I assembled this.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the results. II have a cute top that I can wear to work, and with jeans. And I only needed 1m of fabric.
Fabric Used:
I used a poly blend peach skin fabric. My fabric was a bit slippery and somewhat difficult to work with.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lengthened this by 1 inch, used only one layer of fabric (the pattern recommends two layers of transparent chiffon), changed the back closing to a button loop, used french seams throughout and used baby hems. I also increased the width of the bias binding to 1 1/4 inch as there was a lot of diagonal stretch with my fabric. The 3/4 inch recommended width wasn't working especially around the neck, because of the gathered neckline. I would normally do a FBA, but did not need to with this pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I like the results and it was quite quick to sew. I would make this again, probably in something even lighter weight. However, I wouldn't recommend the pattern to beginners as the instructions were not very helpful.
Conclusion:
Love the top! But would prefer better pattern instructions.
