Pattern Description:
Fitted dress, lined bodice, back zipper closing with front flange. A, B, E, F: back slit opening. C, D: pleated lower section. Armhole and sleeve variations. A: sash with hook and eye closing.
I made view A with the sweetheart neckline.
Pattern Sizing:
4-20. My envelope had sizes 10-14, and I used 10 for the back/shoulders, 12 for the bust and waist, and 14 for the hips.
Once I tried this on after zipper install, I noticed a considerable gap of fabric in my upper back. I took in the flange/back seams about 1", which helped some, but there's still a bit of a gap back there. This isn't a pattern defect, as I have this issue on most things I've sewn, and I just haven't learned how to properly correct it yet.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I thought they were pretty easy for view A. I saw some other reviews mentioned they jump around a lot, but that must be for the other views.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the fitted bodice and straight skirt. I thought it was very flattering. The flanges were a little difficult to install to the bodice front, and I wound up having to hand stitch a little to get a clean look.
Fabric Used:
Quilting cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
none, aside from the sizing mentioned above.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes- it came together fairly quickly and easily and I like the design. I think I might opt for the straight neckline if I were doing it again for myself, and I'd like to try one of the sleeved versions.
Conclusion:
This is a nice pattern that can work well at the office or for a night out depending on the view and fabric chosen. The pattern instructions were pretty easy to follow for this view, and I'm very happy with how the final project turned out. Additional photos and ramblings are on my blog.

Fun fabric, both of them. Re the gap at the back--put in two darts on either side of the center back. For the next version, do this on the pattern piece to pin out the excess before cutting your fabric. Or you could try the smaller size pattern piece for the back.

Thanks! I'll add the darts since it was already the smallest size in that envelope. I'm so new at this I'm nervous about adding my own darts.

Oh, this is adorable! I love how your version of this dress has a sort of va-va-voom vintage feel - so fun. I'll bet your hubby loves it!
