Pattern Description: The pattern for these comfortable and cute elastic-waist shorts includes contrast trim, mock-wrap styling, and a faux fly. The raglan-sleeve pull-on blouse includes gathers at the yokes, elastic at the shoulders, three-quarter-length sleeves, and wide hems.
Pattern Sizing: 6m-4. I made a 12m-18m when my daughter was 6m and wearing large sizes, but it was way too big. I have since made a second one in 6m-12m and it will fit her for a while (she is 12m now). I'd say the top runs large.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes! I always learn something from O+S patterns, and both the top and the shorts have taught me good sewing lessons.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I have made the top twice, and both times I appreciated how easily it came together.
A "dislike" would be the difficulty in understanding the way the shoulder casing goes together. However, after doing it once, the second time it was very easy.
Fabric Used: Very lightweight cotton shirting from Fabric.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None to the yellow version.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have sewn it again and plan on sewing it many times. It's easy, classic, and doesn't take too much fabric in the smaller sizes.
Conclusion: I've been sewing for less than a year, but this pattern (both shorts and top) taught me a lot of skills that I've used in other places. Well worth the money. To see the second version, please visit my blog. |

Very cute top. For sewing less than a year, I think it is a great job!
