Pattern Description: Relaxed fit boy's pants with easy patch pockets on both the front and bapck. They feature an interesting curved panel seams on the legs at the front as well as a curved yoke seams at the back.

Pattern Sizing: 110-140

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. And there is a special section in the magazine explaining how to do a fly zipper. It is not the most clear, but after a couple readings, it worked out fine.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like how these look like RTW jeans. There is nothing 'homemade' about the pattern. And I love the idea of the curved panels. There are so many ways you can do variations with this idea. On past projects I have not had the curved panels, changed the grain on the center panel, and had the seems on the outside of the panel. This time, I used piping at the panel seams and really liked it.

Fabric Used: a soft medium weight corduroy and quilting cotton for the accents

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I cut for a size 122 in length but a 110 for width for my skinny boy. Even being a "slim" version, it is very baggy on him. But he loves to play in them. I lined the bottom third of the pants with the quilting cotton so that my son can cuff them and hopefully get more than a year's worth of wearing out of them

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes.

Conclusion: These are great standard jeans for boys and I will likely use this pattern until my son out grows the pattern. I made this particular pair to go with a hooded sweater I reviewed earlier this week but made them neutral enough he can wear them with a lot of his clothes. Blogged at Without Directions
