Pattern Description:
Dress designed for beginner sewist, with fitted bodice, front drape panel, bodice lining, and back zipper.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, mostly. I tried converting the pattern to a side zip rather than a back zip and struggled with the lining installation as a result. My bust is also so small that I struggled getting my small bust adjustment small enough for a good fit.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very. Colette Pattern instructions are so clear and easy to follow!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked that it was drafted and written specifically for the beginner. I would have had a much easier time with the pattern if I had not tried to convert the zipper (but seriously, how is someone supposed to zip up and down a back zipper!). Nevertheless, this pattern was very well-suited to my skill level and I had some good learnings.
Fabric Used:
I made a muslin with a moderate stretch rayon (in picture) and a second version in a moderate stretch polyester.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Small bust adjustment, sway back adjustment, side zipper installation, size 0 for the bodice and size 8 for the skirt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely recommend it to others, though it might be a while before I want to make it again, since I just made two successful versions of this dress (if you count my "wearable muslin" as one version).
Conclusion:
Great pattern that is very nicely drafted and well explained. Perfect for beginners! I also wrote in more detail about making this dress and have more photos posted on my blog here.

I like the way you are looking at your sewing trials as a learning journey and pushing forward. I liked your muslin length on you too. I agree with you that the pretty details got lost in your print but it is still a very pretty dress and you should wear it with great pride and know that the next project will be better.

Your gingham Truffle is the cutest Truffle I've seen! Looks very light and breezy.
