Pattern Description: Very casual jacket with elasticized bottom edge, exposed zippers, unlined
Pattern Sizing: Lutterloh sizing, based on two measurements, bust and hip. The Lutterloh website explains the process. Youtube has a brief video on the system as well.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? This is my first Lutterloh jacket. I have made well fitting pants and skirts and thought I should graduate to jackets.
Were the instructions easy to follow? No directions with the German Lutterloh System. I used directions from a similar Vogue Pattern in my stash.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The
pattern pieces are well drafted and the garments come together incredibly well! Amazing!
Fabric Used:
Plaid wool gabardine purchased recently from Fabric Mart.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I drafted the pattern based on my bust measurent. Not sure how the single number can result in a great fitting garment, but it does.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Probably won't make this one again. I spotted several other jacket and coat designs that I will try!
Conclusion: I tried this system when Nancy's Notions had it on sale. Really didn't think this system would work. Magically it does and the results are terrific.

Laurie Lou said... I find this system so interesting and would like a crack at it and I can tell by your jacket it might not be a bad idea. Love your plaid and zippers! A very stylin' jacket! Thanks for the review! PS...I have this system from way back (from the 70's?) that I found at a thrift store ...I'll have to take a second look at it. 1/30/13 3:59 PM
