Pattern Description: Self drafted jersey top made by following the instructions in Tomoko Nakamichi's book Pattern Magic Stretch Fabrics .
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? You be the judge! The original concept from the book can be found here
For my own finished garment Click Here
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy. The instructions are minimal but simple: you need to enlarge and shrink the bodice back and bodice front from the pattern supplied (but I used my Renfrew). For full details, see blog post
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Quick way to get the Pattern Magic result. The garment is more suited to a long skinny body type perhaps but the construction was interesting and I was out for the learning experience!
Fabric Used: Two types of stretch cotton jersey: black for the front, striped for the back. I used leftover: this was an experiment.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added the original sized Renfrew cuffs, neckband and waistband.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I'd make it for my daughter and possibly for myself as well in just one colour.

I love how this top came out. Using a stripe really shows the contrasting pieces. It's a great piece of work you've done.

It looks great! This was one of my favourites in this book but I wasn't sure how it'd work in real life.

This looks absolutely fabulous! ...on your skinny body. :-))

This turned out great! The way you used the 2 fabrics makes it slimming. I like the neckline, it's sort of shrug-like, and love that you eliminated the flaps at the armpits.

Your shirt looks great in the stripes and solid. I much prefer your version with normal sleeves to the original. What a fun project.
