Pattern Description:
Short sleeve blouse with front slit and scarf-like tie attached at the neckline.
Pattern Sizing:
36-44. This is 38, widened to 40 at hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. Super simple.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the neckline – the front slit and the gathered neckline into a biased binding finish. It was a quick top to make. On dislikes, perhaps some shaping in the body would have been nice. As it is I will wear it tucked in for work so it is OK as is.
Fabric Used:
A remnant of cotton – given to me by my neighbour as part of a big bundle of fabrics that came from a tailor who went out of business.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I finished the edges of the scarf tie with a rolled hem. I made the slit a bit shorter.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am sure there will be more. I definitely recommend it.
Conclusion:
This was made for a trip to Brunei last year. It was on my to do list ever since it came out, so I'm glad to have done it at last. I really like it and hope to wear it a lot. (I wasn't wearing it much but just finished this skirt - another vogue 1247- which it goes really well with .)
Lovely top! I adore the fabric too.
