Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Close, except I removed the elastic under the bust. After trying it on, the elastic was too high under the bust. I should have added an extra inch to the seam under the bust. It fits Ok without the elastic. If I had lengthened the bust seam, the elastic would have been fine. Also, I sewed the back about 2 inches higher than required to have it close above the bra line.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I couldn't get the gathers to drape as nicely as I would have liked. Perhaps my fabric was to light weight. I like the back opening.
Fabric Used:Not sure. My guess is cotton/nylon knit with alternating stripes and lace.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I didn't use the elastic under the bust. I should have added an inch to the under bust seam.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I may try it in long sleeves with a heavier knit. I only recommend it if you take the time to check the fit (especially under the bust).
Conclusion: The pattern is OK with the changes I mentioned. |

I can't get the photo to enlarge, but the top looks pretty. I wonder if perhaps you could take a smaller seam under the bust and thereby extend the bodice a bit so it would be correctly placed. Well, it sounds like you did get a solution to work for you by removing the elastic. And taking stitches out of a knit is tricky business. One of the problems with these knits is each one stretches in its own way so you have to play around with that a bit. It is a pretty top and the pattern looks like a good one!
