| Pattern Description: This great bag is called the “Gather All Around Bag”. A roomy shoulder bag lined with two pockets, fabric handles and gathered strips of matching blue fabric. There is machine embroidery around top band and handles. It’s lined and made sturdy with fleece interfacing. The inside lining is quilted for durability and appearance, A Velcro strip closes and opens one pocket, second pocket is open for easy access. There is a magnetic closure on band of bag to assure privacy and comfort. Seamstressr can use either cotton fabric or recycled denim fabric strips. Instructions are given for either purchased handles or fabric handles. I used matching fabric for the handles Pattern Sizing: Measurements of my completed bag 15” H x 19” W x 11" D - Fabric Handles: 25 ½”, Inside Pockets: 6 ½” deep x 8 ¾” wide Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I thought the bag looked as good as if not better than the pattern. Of course, this is my own opinion, and I hope you’ll agree. Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were easy to follow, with written instructions and diagrams. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The bag was made from several fabrics and required a great deal of gathering. The bag was not difficult, however, it took a great deal of time, but it was worth it. Fabric Used: I used cotton/poly blend and prewashed the fabric, also ironed the fabric using magic sizing to give the fabric body. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made I quilted the lining and interacting together. It made the bag so it would not collapse when it was set down. I also added Soft and Stable to the lined bottom section to give it a sturdy base. I made my strips wider to make the bag deeper for either a diaper bag or fashionable bag that women or teenagers could carry necessary and favorite items. Vecro closing was added to one pocket. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have made this pattern before and used the bag as gifts. With the two inside pockets it makes a perfect diaper bag or fashionable day bag. Conclusion: I enjoyed making the bag, it was time consuming for me, but a faster sewer would have it done in a day. I’m going to make these bags for my granddaughters who play sports. They can use them to carry their items on the bus or use them as a stylish bag at school.
