This bag was made using an old discontinued pattern/pattern company I have had for some time: The Itty Bitty City Bag by attitudes! a division of Clover.
I made the bag as directed on the pattern, only adding a ribbon trim and small bow at the top edge.
The exterior of the bag is a quilters cotton printed with a map of Paris and the lining is a black/white polka dot cotton. I used a fusible battingin the bag and a black zipper closure at the top. Brass D-rings attach the quilted handle.
This is the first handbag I have ever made like this. The pattern provided cutting dimensions rather than pattern pieces and and simple line-drawing instructions. I think the instructions could have been a lot clearer, this would be a difficult pattern for a beginner. That's too bad because the bag is so cute. It makes up quickly, does not use a lot of fabric and is a fun addition to an outfit. I think it makes a great gift item!
