Pattern Description: Boys and Men Shirts and Pants (I used Men's small pants)
Pattern Sizing: Boys small - Large and Men's small - xlarge
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes, if you do not look at my waistband on the inside
Were the instructions easy to follow? NO NO NO
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the cargo pockets. I like the front pockets. I do not like the fly, the fake waistband, the small carriers, small belt loops.
Fabric Used: Corduroy
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the carriers wider to accommodate a man's belt. We did what we could for the fly and waistband.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? NO NO NO. I would take the front pockets, the cargo pocets and the legs, but change the fly and waistband. If I could find another pattern that made sense. But then again, I would just use that other pattern, no?
Conclusion: I wasted my money on this one. Maybe I will try the shirt from the pattern and have more luck. I bought this because I could make my husband's pants and the boys pants from the same pattern. Good intentions.

frame said... I can understand why it was odd to construct these because it's very different from most men's patterns. But you did a great job with fit! Hopefully next time will be easier. Maybe you can find a better zipper application and use it. 2/3/13 11:26 AM
