They do look like they fit well. I didn't realize this was a cargo pant. Do you remember Ocean Pacific brand shorts for men? They were designed like this waist. I can't tell about the fly, but I always use Sandra Betzina's fly front method.

The pockets and waist exactly. but the button for the fly is on the inside

I can understand why it was odd to construct these because it's very different from most men's patterns. But you did a great job with fit! Hopefully next time will be easier. Maybe you can find a better zipper application and use it.

I just order Kwik Sew's 3504 for his next pair of pants. If they go well I will use the waistband from that one with this cargo pants. We will see
