Pattern Description:
A girl's dress with fitted bodice and gathered skirt. Ties with a bow in the back. Zipper closure in back. I made this twice in sizes 6m and 3.
From the manufacturer: "Inspired by Project Runway. Toddler's and child's dress sewing pattern with bodice and trim variations."
Pattern Sizing:
Sizing was accurate. The 6m size was a bit long.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were generally easy to follow. The pattern offers a lot of variations and this makes the instructions slightly more complicated.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the fit. I would have preferred an invisible zipper, especially with the fabric I chose. The waistband piece is cut on the bias, and required a heavier weight interfacing than I used to hold it's shape, especially in the smaller sizes.
Fabric Used:
Satin.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the dress in a sleeveless version (surprisingly, not one of the options included in the pattern and finished the armhole with bias tape. I would have liked a more traditional cap sleeve as an option.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew this again and recommend it to others.
