This pattern was an excellent choice for a beginner. I used a heavy weight cotton duct upholstery fabric with paisly prints for the oustide of the purse and a lightweight solid color for the inside.

During this project I learned the techniques for:
-Topstitching
-Working with interfacing
-Sewing in a lining
-Making pleats
-Whip stitching a seam closed

I would highly recomend this as a 2nd or 3rd project.

Other information:
-Pattern was easy to follow
-Although no alterations were needed to complete the project, it was simple to add a inside pocket to the lining of this purse
-Finished product was as pictured
