Pattern Description: Misses/Misses Petite Dress or top , Pants or Shorts, Jacket and Sash.
Pattern Sizing:Size 8 through to 24. I did a 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes pretty much.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes they are good. The yoke facings are added before the back or side seams are sewn and the whole thing pulled through. This makes it hard to check the fit and is a good reason to make a muslin, at least of the shell.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the back and front yoke, the pockets and the curved bust darts and the pleat. It is a good summer dress.
Fabric Used:I have made this dress in cotton and this time in rayon. The fabrics recommended on the envelope are cottons, silks, rayons, silk linen and linen blends.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:A few warnings. This dress is short, almost tunic length. Also I found it snug in the yoke and snug in the body. I recommend making a muslin and/or measuring the flat pattern pieces to figure out what size to make. Also the front yoke is quite shallow. I added 5/8" to the depth.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I like this dress and will make it again. My issues are with the fit. I've made one dress that is a touch too tight and another one that is too loose because I added too much ease.
Conclusion: An interesting little dress that is really a shift with a bit of front ease from the pleating. See both my dresses on my blog
Both dresses look great! I just love animal print :)
