I'm petite as well, I've found that I have to shorten patterns between the shoulder & the bust in order for them to fit me properly. Rarely, will I also shorten patterns at the indicated lines between bust and waist. Also - the book "Fit For Real People" has been a godsend for me.

I like this pattern and know I have it in the stash, but have been hesitant to try it because it looks like it would be huge on me. My advice would be to find a similar pattern in a burda and then try again. Sometimes the big four in these very loose fitting tops are simply huge...even in the small sizes. Congrats on the baby. :)

I like the fabric...look for fitting tips on the messages boards. People have luck, at least I do, with doing a high bust measurement and use that size to get a good fit in the neck and shoulders. If you have time do another and show us here.
