Your pictures have the same effect on me that visiting a Designer Showcase House has: I want to throw out everything I have a start over. Absolutely fantastic pants. The fit, the design, the details...everything. I don't suppose your teacher would want to think about doing an online class on PR, would he?

Excellent pants-- you are so talented & skilled!! Could you tell me where you are taking these classes? I'm in Chicago, and although this looks too advanced for me I'd love to see what else they offer.

Josephine, http://www.ewsacademy.org is the site with information about his classes. You start from A and B, from sewing straight line on paper actually, so there is no such thing as advanced or beginner there - everybody is treated equally, only those with more experience are moving faster with the curriculum. Karla, I don't know if he would be interested. I can ask him and then if he has interest he can contact Deepika and talk specifics.

Elli, your pants are awesome, the construction does show off your tailoring qualities . Isn’t it great to follow such a drafting and tailoring class. The passion of sewing does show of from your work.

Those are great pants! They fit you like a glove and your tailoring is absolutely flawless! You should be proud of your efforts. I really want a pair for myself now! I'm wishing I was in Chicago, so I could take that class!! It sounds like the real deal and pretty reasonable rates, I think. Liz H

Eli, I'm especially curious about the waistband. It looks great, but does it hold its shape when the pants have been worn for a while? I'm wondering how it would work for lowrise-pants fans who have swaybacks. Is there an enormous advantage over the curved waistband we're used to?

Karla, it holds it shape after being worn. I cannot comment on the swayback question, if I do it will be pure speculations. The advantage is that it is easier, it looks better if the fabric has some sort of stripe (the wale of the corduroy and the black fabric too had some stripe). Note however that my pants are very low rise and the lower the rise, the less curve you nees, although you can curve the waistband by steaming it quite a lot actually.
