I think it does look a bit big, though it depends what you're planning to wear underneath it. Judging by the pattern photo it's intended to be that way. Would it be hard to take it in or recut it as a small? As for the striped fabric for the reverse, is it wide enough to cut the pieces across the fabric so that the stripes go vertically?

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the only place it seems really too big is underneath the arm. Judging from the way the models are all holding their arms in the pattern pics, I'd guess the ones they're wearing are the same. Thus, just a feature of the design. To me, it really looks fine as I assume it's going to be outerwear. I would nix the horizontal stripes on the reverse, though.

thank you both, I appreciate the feedback! I might try cutting a small as a muslin, too, and see if I like the fit better....
