Pattern Description: See & Sew Skirt
Pattern Sizing: B 16, 18, 20, 22 I chose to do a 18 with rear adjustment
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I made this same pattern for both of my daughters and making it for myself was totally different as they are a size 6 and 8 but the construction was very easy and the directions are clear with illustrations to walk you through each stage
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I enjoyed how quick and easy the whole process was but I didn't like the fit for me. It says it's for petite but I'm still not all that comfortable with fitting myself and making the correct changes for my body type.
Fabric Used: This is heavy cotton blend
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I did widden the hip and rear area on this pattern to allow for a better fit so I wouldn't get the rise in the back that sometimes comes from a person with a pouch gets in some RTW items. When I changed that it meant that I had to widen the front and rear facings. I added embroidery to the side of the skirt to make it a bit more flirty but I'm thinking it needs to go across the front bottom to really make the skirt pop. Full view
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes because it's so easy and I want to perfect it for my frame. It's a really easy to make pattern and the layout of the pattern is exactly what it says so a beginner should have no problems with it and the one thing it will help you perfect is zipper placement which I'm very proud of mine see Zipper
Conclusion: My overall view of this pattern is that you can have a lot of fun with it and make it your own. I have nothing bad to say about the pattern and highly recommend it. I'm still getting use to sewing for myself, I have some problems with the right fitting methods but sewing is something that can be ripped out and altered so that's my approach to all my projects. Now that the project is complete I understand that to achieve the fit I'm after I need to leave the waist as is and change the mid section to add for the hip and rear fullness. Please give me your feedback if that doesn't sound right.

Hi Fabricgurl! Your skirt looks very cute, good work! If you edit your review, and take the B out of the pattern number (ie, 4710 instead of B4710), your review will the show links to other reviewss of the same pattern, which can be a fun way to see what other people have done with the same pattern...

Very pretty skirt, Fabricgurl, and I love the embroidery which looks so feminine. Your zipper application is absolutely perfect, too. I think your plan to add some mid section room sounds just right. Lovely, Lily
