John, you nailed the fit on your wife. I think those culottes look great on her. So, are you going to make them in that expensive wool? Great job!

Shame the pattern wasn't what you wanted. They certainly seem to fit well and suit your wife too.

I think I might do the pattern in the wool, but I might extend upward the waist yoke so that the look is more "normal' waisted than the semi drop waisted look. I don't mind the drop waisted look, but my wife is more conservative in her clothing choices, and feels that whole drop waisted thing is better suited to the pretty young things who have a less "mature" figure. As she is the one who will be wearing it I always defer to her choices, and push the envelope when and where I can. John

Always a good idea to do a muslin. I woder if she would be more comfortable w/ the back higher but a slight drop in the center front? Glad the patern was decent, anyway.
