Slinky is a brand of acetate knits, which would probably not work for this pattern because it's not just very drapy but very heavy. This looks very good however, and I love your recycling of the placket!

Your review is quite inspiring! I'd really like to get back into sewing but 1st have necessary de-cluttering on my agenda, so the idea of refashioning is making a lot of sense to me.
