It looks pretty good to me so I hope you become reconciled to it when you've worn it some more. The fabric is gorgeous; I love that batik-effect print.

I agree with the sizing up. I made this skirt also and I'm so used to sizing down, that I never size up. This also sat very high on my waist due to being too tight to sit any lower. I never wear it, and it became a wadder. Cute skirt on you. For future sewers- do not size down on this one.

I hope you can wear this lovely skirt. And I would never get rid of that wonderful Kenmore machine! Lucky you to have room for two!

I can't see ay problem with the fit of the skirt. The width and length both look perfect in the photo. It is a lovely skirt.

I like the fabric you choose for this skirt. I also agree that the zipper should be shortened from the top instead of the bottom. In some RTW garments that I have, they didn't trim the bottom part of the zipper at all. They just left it hanging free-style you might say, past where the zipper was supposed to end, without sewing across to makea zipper stop at all, thus the zipper-pull sometines goes down past where it should normally stop and you have to go fishing for the zipper pull to bring it upwords to where it is supposed to stop at. Only a sewist would notice things like that..... It seems more practical extend the excess past the top and to cut it off in the waist band section on a skirt or slacks to avoid those problems. Common sense.

Your skirt looks very nice on you and love your fabric, but I understand your fitting issues. Hopefully you can work it out on the next one. (Have you finished your jigsaw puzzle ;-)
