Callie -- they are part of the side seam that is turned in -- just slits. I'll just use it when it's not real cold.

I love how that print works. Not just black - brown, gray? My daughter says the same thing aobut the fleece jacket I made her - just not warm enough - but she loves it when it rains - it acts like a raincoat.
