Pattern Description:
very easy vogue slip dress with belt & elasticated waist Pattern Sizing:
I sewed a size 14 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes, however the envelope looks better coz those betties are much skinnier than me Were the instructions easy to follow?
this is such a basic pattern, one does not necessarily need the instructions however they were easy to follow What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
this pattern is super super easy & quick to make. with a stunning simple piece of beaded fabric you could have a stunner of a garment Fabric Used:
i cut up an indian sari to make my dres so i had to fiddle with the border as i wanted the gold trim border on the bottom of my dress & i used 2 layers on the skirt section for effect. i probably would not do it the same way again. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
im not sure why the pattern asks you to sew the bodice together at the shoulder area coz its a bit tricky & much easier to stitch the whole thing together & turn it out but at least i know that for next time. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would like to try this with a really high end heavily beaded fabric so yes id sew it again providing i have the right fabric.
yes, i would recommend esp. to beginner sewers. Conclusion:
a lovely little basic pattern. the skirt can be used alone & the bodice can be used as a foundation for something else as well. a really classic standard piece of pattern. a good investment for any new beginner.
