Hi, I've a number of really good go to patterns for abayas. Have you tried 1181 Chado Ralph Rucci ? The Geoffrey Beene Vogue 2232 - 2001 View B made up with a front zip is great but is now OUP also Sandra Betzina's Vogue 7397 - 2001 view B, and Koko Beall's Vogue 7134 - 1999 & Vogue 9979 - 1998 & Vogue 7335 - 2001 (only recently OUP) you may be able to pick these up on Ebay. If you want something a little different and can get a copy the Issey Miyake coat pattern Vogue 2736 - 1991 works really well in something lightweight.
