Yes, petersham ribbon is an essential, and you made a beautiful skirt. The high quality ponte is perfect for a form fitting garment

I'm intrigued with the technique you explained above, and I love this pattern, but I'm just begging to sew do you think the ribbon technique would be to hard for a begging seamstress? a seamtress who spends more time with her seam ripper then on her sewing machine LOL!
