Very nice to sew something your Mom really likes. Cute project.
sewtofit said... (6/12/12 11:24 PM) Reply order to topstitch the pockets from the outside, I made sure to match the sideseams first and then made sure the pockets were lined up. I did this by installing the pockets first to completion, then secured them in place to the front using pins, once that's done, I folded the front on center and matched the pockets and sideseams. Once matched, I pressure traced the two front sides along the pocket edges. (meaning I used a smooth tracing wheel to make an impression.) When I unfolded the front, the impression was easy to see, and follow using a topstitch. Most of the time, I sew from the inside, just making sure the pockets are lined up on both left and right side of the garment.

Love the pics of your mom dancing-happy! Do you have any pointers on the topstitched-from-the-outside pockets? I love the look you have here but have never done that to pockets...
